On January 12, Haiti suffered a devastating magnitude 7 earthquake. We express our sincere condolences to all who have suffered the loss of a friend or family member due to this tragic event. In the days and weeks following the earthquake, our team in Haiti was committed to ensuring that survivors could re-connect with families and that relief agencies could coordinate essential medical and rescue services. We offered free calls to anyone with a working Voilà phone; we delivered thousands of phones and free airtime to dozens of organizations such as Partners in Health, Doctors without Borders, Mercy Corps, and the Red Cross; and we set up voice and data communications for search and rescue teams, field hospitals, and food distribution centers.
Since the earthquake, the entire Voilà family has been working around the clock to keep communications going. Our network is at 100% pre-quake coverage and we've expanded capacity to manage the increased call volume. Voilà has been committed to the people of Haiti for over 10 years and we are dedicated to the reconstruction of our country. We believe that, working together, we will come out of this catastrophe stronger and united in our efforts to create a bright future for Haiti.
